D9 SPEAKERS
When you already build the very best sounding speaker available (HEX) how do you top it? This was the daunting challenge our engineering staff was faced with, and TDX™ Technology and the new D9 product line was the solution.
At the heart of every speaker is a permanent magnet motor structure that provides the magnetic energy, or force to move the voice coil back and forth within the magnetic air gap. Conventional speakers use large ceramic magnets surrounding the voice coil. These magnets retain heat. TDX™ motors use a small but very efficient neodymium magnet mounted inside the voice coil. The geometry, venting and material selection for these motors have been optimized for ideal heat dissipation. The resulting speaker is nearly 5 times more efficient than conventional designs. In conjunction with the motor design, TDX™ Technology utilizes a die-cast aluminum basket that helps to act as a heat sink for the encapsulated motor structure. This makes for the most advanced cooling process of any speaker available.
The new D9 component system takes this TDX™ Technology and expands on it to maximize the benefit for superior full spectrum performance. To faithfully reproduce an extended frequency response, the materials and design must be optimal. This coupled with a demand for very high power handling is extremely challenging. From the new multi-layer QFS™ sandwich cone and the patented Dual-tuned chamber tweeter to the extruded aluminum high power crossover, the new D9 component system meets the challenge. The D9 component speakers with TDX Technology™ set a new benchmark in performance. With extremely low distortion, incredible accuracy and high thermal power handling these speakers truly have no equal.
